Terms of Service
Last updated: November 8, 2026. These terms are between you and Aleksandr Kozlov, trading as ECUDeck, Yerevan, Armenia ("we").
1. The software
ECUDeck is a desktop workbench for CAN bus and UDS/DoIP diagnostics for macOS, Windows and Linux, with an MCP server for AI agents. It ships no vehicle-manufacturer databases, no security-access keys and no immobiliser, odometer or coding functions; you bring your own signal databases and diagnostic definitions. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it under the plan you have: Free, Pro or Team.
2. Engineering tool, not a safety system
ECUDeck is a tool for engineering, testing and diagnostics on a bench or on a parked vehicle. It is not a safety system and must not be used on a moving vehicle, for vehicle control, for safety functions or for any function whose failure could cause injury, death or damage to property. Vehicles, test rigs and people must be protected by their own control and safety systems, independently of ECUDeck.
Sending frames on a CAN bus or diagnostic requests to an ECU can change how a vehicle or a device behaves and can damage an ECU. You are responsible for every frame and request you or an AI agent you connected send with ECUDeck, for having the authority to access the vehicles, devices and networks you connect to, and for following your workshop's or lab's procedures. Mark real vehicles with the vehicle role in ECUDeck, keep connections listen-only unless you must send, and review every request before you confirm it.
3. Plans
- Free can be used for any purpose, including commercial work, with the limits shown on ecudeck.com.
- Pro is a one-time purchase for one person, on up to 3 of that person's devices. It includes updates for one year. After that year, every version released during it keeps working for good; renewing gives another year of updates.
- Team is an annual subscription per seat. Seats can be assigned to members of your organisation and moved between them. When a subscription ends, its keys stop working after a 7-day grace period and the app falls back to Free.
Paid keys can be activated online or offline (with a request and a response file). Online activations are re-checked from time to time; the app keeps working offline between checks for the period shown in the app.
4. Purchases
When sales open, ECUDeck licences are sold by Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), our reseller and merchant of record, whose buyer terms apply to your purchase. Team subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep the seats until the end of the paid period. Refunds are described in the refund policy.
5. AI agents
The MCP server only reads unless you set a connection to let agents ask to send. Then you allow or deny each request in the app, and you remain responsible for every frame and request you allow. AI agents can be wrong; never let one act on a real vehicle without a person checking.
6. Acceptable use
Do not share licence keys outside the plan you bought, circumvent the licence checks, or use ECUDeck to access vehicles, devices, networks or systems you are not authorised to access, to defeat security or anti-theft functions, or to alter mileage or emissions-related data.
7. Changes and availability
We may change features and these terms; material changes are announced on ecudeck.com or by email. ECUDeck works without our servers.
8. Warranty and liability
ECUDeck is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any damage arising from the use of ECUDeck on a vehicle or a device or from frames and requests sent with it, including a damaged or inoperable ECU, downtime, lost data or costs of repair, nor for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for ECUDeck in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. Disputes go to the competent courts of Yerevan, Armenia, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring them where you live.
